Turning Point presents at the Inquiry into the law enforcement of illicit drugs
Changing the conversation about addiction.
Turning Point’s Executive Clinical Director Professor Dan Lubman AM and the Monash Addiction Research Centre’s Deputy Director Professor Suzanne Nielsen welcomed the opportunity to present to the federal Inquiry into the challenges and opportunities for law enforcement in addressing Australia’s illicit drug problem.
During the public hearing, they discussed the benefits of decriminalising the personal possession and use of illicit drugs, and the need to harmonise and expand access to drug diversion programs, implement drug checking services nationwide, and invest in addiction treatment and support services.
