Dr Daniel Pham to lead research on consumer experiences in withdrawal and detox
Turning Point senior addiction psychiatry registrar, Dr Daniel Pham, is the recipient of a Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) Beverley Raphael New Investigator Grant.
The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) grant program provides a number of small grants on a competitive basis to trainees or Fellows to facilitate research projects, and encourages research as an important activity for psychiatric training.
Dr Pham will use the grant to support research into consumer experiences at Turning Point’s withdrawal and stabilisation units. The research will help put consumers at the centre of the model of care and will inform future service delivery at Turning Point.
On receiving the grant Dr Pham said, “I am very grateful to have received this grant and thankful for the support I have received from Turning Point. I look forward to the opportunity to undertake this project with a dynamic team exploring patient perspectives on treatment, whilst at the same time building on my ongoing training and research skills.”
