Dr Mpilwenhle Mthunzi
Associate Program Director, Turning Point Treatment Services and Director of Nursing Statewide Services
Mpilwenhle Mthunzi is the Associate Program Director for Turning Point’s Treatment Services and Director of Nursing for Statewide Services. A Doctor of Public Health, he holds a Master of Health Administration degree and a Master of Science in Health Promotion and Public Health. He trained as a psychiatric nurse in the UK and has had a range of leadership roles in the health sector including managing services for young offenders, people with severe mental disorders, autism, challenging behaviours and adult forensic psychiatric services.
Since moving to Australia in 2011, he has worked at the Melbourne Clinic as an After Hours Manager, and at Malvern Private Hospital as the Director of Clinical Services. Mpilwenhle has also undertaken an Australian College of Health Service Management Internship program which saw him completing 6 month management placements at Cabrini Health, the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA), Monash Health and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
He is an Adjunct Lecturer at Monash University. His areas of research interest include Management and Culture.
