About the presenter

Professor Cathy Mihalopoulos is an internationally recognised health economist and a leading authority in the economics of mental health and psychosocial care. As Head of the Health Economics Group at Monash University, she leads one of Australia’s largest academic teams specialising in health economic evaluation.

Her research has attracted more than $150 million in competitive funding and has informed health policy, service delivery, and resource allocation both nationally and internationally. With over 300 research publications, numerous prestigious awards, and appointments to high-profile advisory bodies including the Medical Services Advisory Committee - Evaluation Subcommittee (MSAC-ESC).

Professor Mihalopoulos is widely recognised for advancing the use of economic evidence to improve health outcomes and create more efficient and equitable healthcare systems.
