SMART Recovery
SMART Recovery (Self-Management and Recovery Training) is a group program that assists individuals affected by addiction including alcohol and other drug use, gambling, smoking, sex and eating. The program draws on evidence-based tools and techniques from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing.
An experienced facilitator and/or peer lead each session. The focus for participants is learning to manage addictive behaviours rather than particular substances. Participants support each other through a peer model to create a behavioural change plan.
Suitable for
People aged 18 and over who are experiencing addiction. If you are under 18 we will refer you to a youth SMART recovery group.
