Using the Counselling Online forums as a case study, this webinar will explore the use of online communities in a health context for developing connection, self-efficacy and social capital. We will cover the forums’ purpose, story so far and plans for the future as well as:

• who they are suitable for 
• what are the benefits

Presenter

Brittany Pantano is the Online Community Development Officer at Turning Point, Eastern Health. She manages two recovery-oriented online communities - one in the gambling and one in the AOD space and brings a public health background to the role.  

Brittany is also the current co-secretary of the Australian Support Communities Interagency, a collaborative group for community managers of psychosocial peer support communities and she is passionate and excited about the growth and development of this additional support for people in the process of change to their AOD use.
